About Me

Hello friend, welcome to Cat in the Family!

Over here, we’ll aim to show you why you should get that furry ball into your family, what you should prepare before he/she officially arrives, and how you should care for him/her after his/her arrival.

My Story

Before you ask, yes, I am a cat lover <3

I have two cats (and a dog!) at home, as shown in the picture attached to the right. [PS: My phone doesn’t exactly have the best quality camera installed xD]

The tortoiseshell little girl sleeping on the cushions is named Monkey, and she’s 3 years old as of 2018. We picked her off the streets when she was around 4-6 months old (we brought her to the vet and that was what we were told) and she has grown to become the beautiful little lady shown in the picture.

The fat little boy next to her is named Jaguar, whom my father affectionally call Son because he’s the only other he in the family other than my father! (My mother, my sisters, our dog Xiao Xiao and Monkey are all shes xD) He’s turning 7 years old in three month’s time (April 2018). We adopted him from the shelters when he was 4 months old, and he was estimated to be born in December 2010 – January 2011. Our family still kept his adoption certificate, but that’s another story for another time!

Why I Created This Site

Jaguar is not the first cat that we welcome into the family. We did own other cat in the past, for a period of a few months. Unfortunately, she is not with us anymore, and her loss was a great pain to us. Her story is for another day, but long in short, she taught us a few lessons. We were able to apply what we learnt to the cats we have currently to provide them with a safer, healthier and happier home.

I had friends who asked me why I love cats so much. I have friends who wanted to own cats after visiting my house and playing with Jaguar and Monkey. I have friends who own cats like our family. We often share and exchage the information we have with each other to ensure that we are caring and providing for them to the best we can.

We hope to share what we’ve learnt to the cat owners and soon-to-be cat owners out there so that we can all provide quality homes for our little furry family members.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

I wish you all the best in choosing, owning, and living with your own furry family member(s)!
